Questions
Is this a real letter, in the actual mail?
Yes. Paper, envelope, stamp, mailbox. Nothing to download, no login, no PDF. If a letter shows up and your phone never buzzed, everything worked exactly as designed.
What does Emma actually write about?
Her real life. Marriage, motherhood, the funny thing that happened at the grocery store, the season that has been hard, the ordinary Tuesday that turned out to matter — and the faith that runs through all of it. Every letter is different because every month is.
Is the letter handwritten or printed?
Handwritten, and then copied. Emma writes each month's letter out by hand — her own handwriting, her own pen — and that page is then copied so everyone on the list gets it. So what arrives is her handwriting rather than a typeface. It is not a one-of-a-kind original, and we would rather say so plainly than let you open the envelope expecting one. Writing every letter out again by hand for every subscriber would mean either a much shorter letter or a much shorter list, and neither felt like the better trade.
What's the surprise tucked inside?
It changes with the month — a postcard, a bookmark, a Scripture card, some small paper keepsake that fit what Emma was writing about. Think "pressed flower," not "product." The letter is the point; this is the smile before it.
Is this religious? What if I'm not a Christian?
Honest answer: Emma is a Christian, and her faith shows up in her letters the way it shows up in her life — naturally, in the middle of the laundry and the hard weeks and the good news. What you won't find is a sermon, a study guide, or a monthly lesson. Plenty of readers wouldn't call themselves religious and love the letters anyway. We'd rather tell you plainly than surprise you.
Who is Emma?
A wife, a mom, and a letter-writer who thinks your mailbox deserves better. The proper introduction is on the Meet Emma page — go say hi.
When will my first letter arrive?
Letters go out once a month, around the 15th. Subscribe by the 15th and your first letter is in that mailing; after that, yours starts the following month. From there it travels at the post office's pace — there is no tracking number, because it is a letter and not a package.
How much is it, and when am I charged?
$11 a month — that covers the letter, the keepsake inside, and the postage to reach you. You're charged when you subscribe, then automatically on that same date each month until you cancel. Or pay once a year: $110, which is twelve letters for the price of ten, and it renews yearly until you cancel. You pick on the checkout page.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — about three clicks in Manage My Subscription, no phone call, no guilt trip. Future charges stop immediately, and any letter you've already paid for still comes.
Can I give This Good Life as a gift?
Yes — a year of letters for $110, paid once. It never renews, so nobody gets billed again for a present. Choose "A year as a gift" when you subscribe: their name goes on the envelope, yours stays on the receipt. You can have us email them, or leave that blank and let the first envelope be the surprise.
How do I change my mailing address?
Sign in to Manage My Subscription and update it — about a minute's work. Changes made by the 15th catch that month's mailing. Moving is chaos; this part shouldn't be.
What if my letter doesn't arrive?
First, give it a few extra days — the mail has moods. If it's clearly gone missing, email hello@thisgoodlife.club and we'll get another copy of that month's letter headed your way. That's one replacement per month rather than an endless supply, and if the second copy goes astray too we'd rather refund you that month than keep mailing into whatever is eating the post. Either way, we're not going to let the one letter you were waiting for be the one that got lost.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet — letters currently travel to US mailing addresses only. If you're reading this from somewhere else, we're genuinely sorry, and a little flattered. Email hello@thisgoodlife.club and you'll be the first to know if that changes.
Will you fill up my email inbox?
No. The whole point of This Good Life is your mailbox, not your inbox. We email when something practical needs your attention — a receipt, a "your letter mailed today" note, a payment hiccup — and that is it.
Will you sell my address?
Never. Your address exists here for exactly one purpose: putting letters in your mailbox. It is not sold, shared, rented, or "partnered." The Privacy Policy says this formally; this is us saying it plainly.
Is my payment information safe?
Yes. Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment processor used by millions of businesses. Your card details go directly to them over an encrypted connection — we never see or store your card number.
There's room on Emma's list for you.
Eleven dollars a month. One honest letter. A mailbox worth checking again.
Cancel anytime — no phone calls, no guilt.
